I graduated from The University Of Exeter in 2001 having gained a 2:1 BA(Hons) degree
in History. I remained at The University of Exeter and obtained a PGCE specializing
in Early Years in 2002.
I completed my NQT year in 2002-3 at Willowbank Primary School in Cullompton teaching
in a mixed Reception and Year One unit. After my one year contract ended I started
as the Reception teacher and History coordinator at Bradley Barton Primary School
in Newton Abbot. I worked there from 2003-2010. In that time I taught mainly in
Reception, but did have terms teaching in the Nursery and in Year One and Two. I
also became the coordinator both for Gifted and Talented children and Music. I worked
closely with the Nursery to provide an easy and positive progression and completed
all the Foundation Profiles at the end of the Reception Year.
I left teaching in 2010 to become a full-time mother and to have our second child.
After a wonderful time as a full-time mother I have decided to become a Childminder.
I love working with children and Childminding allows me to use my professional background
as an early years practitioner and be close to my children.
In my free time I enjoy trips out with my family, keeping fit at gym classes, socialising,
crochet and playing the piano.
